Silecroft Country Park is located along the Cumbrian coastline and is one of our most recent acquisitions. We are extremely excited to be given the chance to own and run this beautiful park. There are stunning views looking over the Irish Sea, Cumbrian mountains as well as the world-famous Lake District National Park.

The scenery doesn’t get much better than this. Beautiful sandy shores are just 100 meters away, making it the perfect place to relax in stunning surroundings. There are plenty of things to do in the local area and there are several places nearby where you can find amenities, such as Millom, Whitcham and Bootle.

Our Location

Situated in West Cumbria, our caravan park is ideal for short breaks away from a busy life. The Cumbrian coastline is right on your doorstep and you can enjoy long walks along the beach. Silecroft Country Park is easy to reach with a train station nearby, as well as the main road leading North and South.

The popular town of Barrow in Furness is close by and offers plenty of amenities. Moreover, there are several other places to visit locally, from the popular town of Millom to picturesque Walney Island. Another huge benefit is that you are within easy driving distance of Ennerdale and other lakes.

Some popular attractions include Dalton Castle, Silecroft Golf Club and the South Lakes Safari Zoo. Muncaster Castle is also a short drive away and is perfect for those who enjoy culture and heritage.

Silecroft Golf Club

With a nine-hole course, this is ideal for all levels of golfer. The scenic surroundings and views over the Irish Sea also rate it as one of the top courses in the region.

Dalton Castle

This is a perfect location for those who love heritage and history. The National Trust look after the Grade I-listed fourteenth century tower and it is an 8 mile drive away from our caravan park in Silecroft.

Hiking

Take the two-hour or so climb up Black Combe Summit which has spectacular views on clear days! There are also several other hikes to enjoy in the local area.

Lake District

If hiking isn't for you, then there are plenty of things to do in the Lake District National Parl. If you prefer to float a boat on the District's biggest lake, Windermere is less than an hour's drive away.

The Ravensglass and Eskdale Steam Railway

As the oldest and longest miniature steam railway in the local area, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway (or La'al Ratty) is perfect for train enthusiasts.

South Lakes Safari Zoo

The Safari Zoo in Dalton has more than 1,000 rare and unique animals for you to visit. You can even participate in one of the feeding experiences, finding out more about lions and tigers.

The King Billy Grill

Is there any better way to end a busy day at the beach than with a delicious and filling meal? The King Billy Grill is close to our caravan site in Silecroft and perfect for cosy evenings with family.

Murthwaite Green Trekking Centre

Murthwaite Green Trekking Centre is nearby and they specialise in beach rides here at Silecroft. Whether you are a beginner or intermediate horse rider, there are treks for everybody to enjoy.
