Winksley Banks is a 15-acre holiday park in a truly beautiful area of Yorkshire. The River Laver gently meanders along the edge of the park, adding to the scenic views. Winksley Banks offers residents peace and relaxation. However, it is close to many places of interest, meaning there’s always something to do.

You are only a short drive away from several places to visit including Ripon Racecourse, Fountains Abbey, Brimham Rocks, and Pateley Bridge. Some other popular attractions include Lightwater Valley Theme Park and the Wensleydale Creamery.

To ensure the holiday park is maintained to our very high standards, we have a full-time park warden and site maintenance team. Winksley Banks is open 1st March until 7th January, making it available for the Christmas holidays.

Surrounding Location

Winksley Banks holiday park nestles at the edge of the quaint Yorkshire village, Galphay. The cathedral town of Ripon with its many attractions is just 5 miles North-West of the park.

Our holiday park is fully secure and owner access only. Therefore, it means only visitors to our site are allowed entry. Our grounds are beautifully landscaped and we take pride in how our site looks.

Whether you enjoy the outdoors or are looking to explore more about heritage and history, there is something to do for everyone. There are several places locally to visit including Fountains Abbey, Ripon Cathedral, Grantley Hall and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Fountains Abbey

As Yorkshire’s first World Heritage Site, Fountains Abbey is a beautiful place to visit. You can find so much heritage here including the largest abbey ruins in the country and one of England’s most spectacular Georgian water gardens.

Ripon Cathedral

Ripon Cathedral was first built in the 7th Century by Saint Wilfred who constructed one of the first stone churches on the site in England. Today the Cathedral is still a place of worship and features stunning architecture.

Ripon City

Ripon is an unspoilt cathedral city of the Yorkshire Dales. It has great places to eat and drink as well as an abundance of attractions including Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, Newby Hall, Ripley Castle, Lightwater Valley theme park and the village of Masham with its two breweries.

The Yorkshire Dales

With more than 1,600 square miles of countryside, the Yorkshire Dales has some of the most beautiful and unique scenery in the world. It is perfect for those who enjoy riding, cycling and walking in and outside paradise.

Ripon Racecourse

Ripon Racecourse is well known as Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse. The site has been hosting some of the most exciting, prestigious and enjoyable racing in the country for more than 300 years.

The Galphay Inn

Within walking distance from Winksley Banks you will find The Galphy Inn. Here they serve a variety of locally sourced home cooked food as well as local beers and fine wines. The traditional country pub is perfect for a meal out.

Light Water Valley

If you're looking for the ultimate day out for your family, then Light Water Valley is the place to go. There are more than 30 rides to go on for all ages.

The Blacksheep Brewery

The Black Sheep Visitor Centre in Masham is also worth a visit. You can drink and eat at the brewery and find out more about the process of making beers and more.
